About Us

Experienced, robust, creative, dynamic people with a passion for content production and a proven track record in delivery.

Old Heads on Young Shoulders

We were founded in 2019 by David Nottage and Charlotte Davis, both factual and branded content producers with more than 25 years’ experience each. So, we might be a young business, but we know what we’re doing.

The Captains

David Nottage

Founder & Managing Director

Across more than 25 years, David has worked in the Daytime, Features and Factual spaces in TV for the BBC, ITV, Travel Channel, Food Network, UKTV and RTE among others, with a particular focus on food programming with chefs including Rick Stein, Gary Rhodes, Rachel Allen, Simon Rimmer, Raymond Blanc and Ainsley Harriott. David’s Daytime experience in particular means he knows how to put all the value of even the tightest budget on the screen. His strong track record in brand content as well as Advertiser Funded Programming also gives David great insight and practical experience in alternative funding models and multi-stakeholder content projects.

Right now, Meg has day to day responsibility for Unwind, Rock Oyster’s innovative Mindfulness content project with ITV, that sees her and the team deliver 75 minutes of mindfulness programming to the channel every single day, year round.

Hannah Wilson

Hannah started her TV career as a runner on Saturday Kitchen for the BBC and has stayed in the food space ever since. She knows everyone there is to know in cookery, and over the years has travelled the UK and the world with chefs from James Martin to Ainsley Harriott. Hannah’s food credentials put her right at the heart of everything Rock Oyster does in the genre and, since we do so much, it’s pretty handy that she has broad shoulders and really loves making lists!

Laura Lake

Finance Manager

Laura joined the Rock Oyster team as finance manager in 2023 and is completely new to the media sector. Having built up a vast experience working in various sized organisations across many industries, she has developed an enquiring mind and passion for detail. Although Laura is new to TV her proactive attitude and creative approach means she fits right in!

Tara Stones

Development Assistant Producer

Tara is a development researcher and production assistant who has been busy recently with Ainsley Harriott’s Good Mood Food, Simply Raymond Blanc, and Jeremy Pang’s Asian Kitchen. She started working life in academia but made the jump to the media sector to further develop her passion for all things TV and to champion diversity on and off screen.

Hannah (Mavis) Stanier

Mavis earned a degree in Film and media and retains a real love of learning. She always jumps at an opportunity to get involved in new projects and has a keen eye for media trends. As a former pizza chef and full-time farmer, (as well as being a Production Co-ordinator), Mavis really embodies the Rock Oyster food obsession from farm to fork!
